Not all of us can do great things. But we can do small things with great love.” Please Read....

I remember some years ago, back in Abuja, I,some family members and friends were going for a wedding in Akure, we stopped on the way(roadside) to buy potatoes and other food items to give to relatives as we normally do.I came out of the car, sat on a bench and was waiting for everyone to finish their purchase, then i noticed an old woman, standing in a corner, she was dressed in some old clothes and looked malnourished. I kept staring at her, all of a sudden,i saw her dash to pick something up,I strained my eyes to see what it was and i noticed it was the bad potatoes that the seller had thrown into the bush, while the customers were selecting the good potatoes.

This old woman wasn’t coming to people to beg (as its normally the custom for poor people back home or maybe she had been shushed away before we got there), she was just looking out for bad foods to pick and feed her children with. When she had finished picking about 4/5 potatoes, she left with a look of relief on her face and disappeared into the bush, we also got into our cars and left.

Up until this day, i regret not running after her and giving her some money and making some enquiries to help in any little way. I still can’t shake that memory of my mind and i always wonder about her and the thousands of men and women like her roaming the streets, begging, and looking for where their next meal will come from.

A lot of us have encountered poor people on the street and we just shake it off,as we‘ve become so accustomed to it, we see our neighbours struggling and we just carry on with our own lives  and encourage them with the No 1 naija quote”It go better”.

Surely this change should start from us first, right ? before we start heaping the blame on the government, religion and others. The question is, how are you helping?

Well,if like me,u want to give a little, but u don’t seem to know how or where to find them, maybe they are not around where u live and there’s no access to them,.. then please join me and lets contribute our own widows mite, using this medium, or if u have a better suggestion on how we can help, please don’t hesitate to send a message.. Let’s be doers of the word, and not just  hearers .

I will be posting a lot here. if you know anyone in urgent need, please post in the comment section and I will post it on the blog, and whoever wants to help can do so anonymously by contacting them.(we don’t have to know)
NB: please this is for people in need and not for people looking to acquire trends( we all want the latest Iphone, androids phones, bag, cars and all the nice things..., but please this is not for that purpose,. If you put up false need, even the little you have will be taken from U!

I’ll leave you with this quotes :

“Not all of us can do great things. But we can do small things with great love.”
      Mother Theresa

“If anyone says, “I love God,” and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen cannot love God whom he has not seen”
     God - 1 John 4:20

  1. Awesome. Powerful message.

That old lady you saw in Akure is everywhere around you even on your street in London. On every street in the world.

I like your quote from the Bible

“If anyone says, “I love God,” and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen cannot love God whom he has not seen”
    God - 1 John 4:20

Keep doing. Keep loving. Keep forgiven yourself.
